Barely 24 hours after President Mugabe launched a tirade against Pastor Evan Mawarire for organising successful anti-government protests, Zanu PF youths on Wednesday descended on central Harare denouncing stayaways.
The development comes as no surprise as Zanu PFF youths recently threatened a series of protests against social media activists who successfully called for anti-government protests in recent weeks.
As Mugabe denounced Mawarire and his colleagues at the burial of former chief secretary in President’s office and cabinet, Charles Utete, on Tuesday some Zanu PF supporters were carrying posters written ‘No to disruptive and destructive demonstrations’ giving an indication of what was to follow.
