Chinese peasant Zhang Shengwu (张胜武, what a name!) built a DIY submarine with 5,000 yuan
Its hulls were made of 5mm steel plates, and the cabin measures about 60 cm wide, less than 1.5 m high.
The vessel can reach a speed of 7 nautical mile per hour, with a collapse depth of little more than 1 metre.
